SHARON — Kimberly Lumia, MSN, MBA, RN, chief nursing officer at Sharon Hospital, has been named acting chief executive officer effective July 7.

Lumia was appointed to the position by Steve Wylie, who is  executive vice president and chief operations officer for Essent Healthcare, which is based in Nashville, Tenn.

Sharon Hospital CEO Charlie Therrien announced in June that he is moving to a new position at a hospital in Maine. Essent had announced at that time that Wylie would be interim CEO in Sharon until a replacement could be found for Therrien.

Wylie has been traveling between Nashville and Sharon.

“We are currently progressing with the search to find our next permanent CEO,” said Jill Musselman, director of marketing and public relations for Sharon Hospital.
