COPAKE — Dean H. Pierson, 59, died Jan. 21, 2010, at his residence. He was the husband of Gwynneth A. (Oberly) Pierson.

He was born Nov. 1, 1950, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the son of Pauline (Chorney) Pierson of Copake and the late Helmer T. Pierson.

Dean was a graduate of Roeliff Jansen Central School and received his associate’s degree from the State University of New York at Cobleskill.

Along with his family he was the owner and operator of the High-Low Dairy Farm in Copake.

He was a member of both the Agri-Mart and Agway co-ops.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed helping his fellow farmers and neighbors.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his four children; and an uncle, Neil Pierson of LaGrangeville.

Arrangements are under the care of the Peck & Peck Funeral Home in Copake.

A funeral service was held Jan. 27 from the funeral home. Interment followed in the Copake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall St., 22nd Floor, New York, NY 10005.
