LAKEVILLE — Judith K.R. Linscott, 58, of Indian Mountain Road, died Dec. 9, 2009, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the wife of Ezra Zask.
Judith was born in Richmond, Mass., on Oct. 26, 1951, the daughter of the late Lucy (Goodblatt) and Roger Linscott. She grew up in Richmond and graduated from Skidmore College in 1973.
She worked as an editor for the Brooklyn Phoenix, the New York City Chamber of Commerce and the New York Daily News.
Here in the Northwest Corner, she was a freelance journalist for many years and was copy editor for The Lakeville Journal Co. from 2006 to 2008.
She was active in local events and organizations and served for several years on the board of TriArts in Sharon. She was president of the Friends of the Scoville Library in Salisbury, and she was a board member of Women’s Support Services in Sharon.
In addition to her husband of 25 years, she is survived by a daughter, Anna S. Linscott of Lakeville; three sisters, Wendy Taylor Linscott and her husband, James Lamme of South Egremont, Mass., Victoria Harpur Linscott of Falls Village and Rebecca S. Linscott and her husband, Jim Spieler of Sandisfield, Mass.; and three nieces, Taylor Linscott Lamme of San Francisco, Calif., and Sophia Linscott and Lucy Spieler of Sandisfield.
A celebration of her life will be held in January. All other services are private. Memorial contributions may be made to Women’s Support Services, PO Box 341, Sharon, CT 06069. The Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon has charge of arrangements.
