FALLS VILLAGE — The Housatonic girls soccer team played a magnificent season, going 13-1-2 and capturing a piece of the Berkshire League title. The girls triumphed based on the strength of their entire roster; top to bottom teamwork was the engine that powered their successful season.

However, with the season over, individual accolades are being awarded. Several girls have already been named as All State players: team captain Hannah Savage, team captain Maggie Yahn, goalie Kayla Robinson and Meredith Carling. Several more — Liz Kavanagh, Jessica Taylor, Elissa Whitmore and Marie Christensen — were named honorable mentions.

Now another accolade has been bestowed upon a player from the Housatonic girls. Hannah Savage has been named to the All New England team. The selection, which was announced Friday, serves as a capper for Savage’s high school career.

"After an outstanding high school career, Hannah Savage received much deserved recognition by being selected as an All NE player," Housatonic girls coach John Hay said. "She was an All Berkshire League and All State player four years in a row. She is a once-in-a-lifetime player from a coaching perspective and she will be sorely missed both by the Housatonic girls soccer team and the Berkshire League. I’m obviously very proud of her; she was a pleasure and privilege to coach over the last four years."
